The Story Behind of Majapahit Civilization

"Have you traveled just for spiritual journey?" I think rarely people do that. But, this my experienced recently where I was going to Mojokerto, East Java. Some story to make me feel like "I am nothing" and "I don't have any further to explain what my religion is".

What do you know about Mojokerto Residence? Some of you thought, there is nothing to explore more than just people who live there, but few people know this place had have historical story. It's all about history. The story behind Javanese apocalypse was stand and its huge impact to others. It was named Majapahit.

Majapahit was built when it called "Sirna Ilang Kertaning Bhumi" and I have no any idea to explain it, but friend of mine told the meaning that was 1400 Masehi ( Sirna = 0, Ilang = 0, Kertaning = 4, Bhumi = 1; reverse). The big kingdom was we had at the time.

What will you get?

1. The history journey
candi Brahu (Brahu temple)
Go back from ancient story, when I was in elementary school, my teacher taught we had two kingdoms which colonized another country and had big power. They were Srivijaya (Buddha) well-known in Sumatra island and Majapahit (Hindu)  in Java island. Each kingdom was greatness in difference age.

Honestly, I am not good at history lesson unless I am looking by myself to visit history places. This is it, Majapahit told me anything. I was envy when arrived at candi Brahu which is one of the Majapahit building was steady and there was students of elementary school visited and learnt the history. I never know what candi Brahu is, and evidently it was cremation place. There is some temples around and such brought us in century ago.

Later, we came in to museum Majapahit and showed of historical object which is like stupa, ancient money, Buddha statue, the God of Shiva and many things. The interesting thing symbol was Shiva. My friend told me that Indonesian was Shiva-ism at the time and Balinese, too. He brings that look-a-like 'pengusir' flies at left hand and another characteristic is his neck coloring with blue which mean he 'eat' the sins all the evil.

2. Story
Everybody does have story wherever they go. Even though your story is not mine. We went to Mojokerto with 3 others. My friends was worshiping when I took some photo of his. I respected what they did. We live in diversity. Actually, I was minority among my travel buddy, they are Hindu and I am Muslim.

A questioned to me from my friend about aqiqah and that was awkward moment because I couldn't answer. Oh, shame on me. But I learn from this situation and respectful journey, I must learn how to be a good Muslim properly.

3. Friends
Point no 2 and 3 are my own thought. It simply to find but difficult to appropriate a friendship. We just friend in common, tho.

I am impressing to Indonesia, its culture, its respect, its different and its power. Even if the history tell us we had super power at the time, but we can conquer toward Indonesia nowadays. I love my country.

p.s
English version, sorry for all grammar mistakes because it's first time. Another story I would to tell in Bahasa.
